Las Vegas Raiders vs Philadelphia Eagles: 3 things to watch
Raiders Receivers
If you date back to the preseason, and even the first half of the Week 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens, it was debatable and daunting to think the Raiders had no consistent receiving threats outside of tight end Darren Waller. This narrative has totally changed, as the Raiders have a triple threat core at wide receiver now.
The dependable slot machine in Hunter Renfrow consistently makes tough catches while making defenders miss and being able to take on heavy hits, while still being able to hold on to the ball. Bryan Edwards may not be targeted much, but when he is, he is as sure-handed as any receiver on this roster.
His one-handed 51-yard reception and run against the Broncos last week were indicative of this talent.
The best of the bunch seems to surely be Henry Ruggs. After a disappointing rookie season, he has rebounded and surely is not going through a sophomore slump. The speedster is always one to watch as he blazes past opposing cornerbacks no matter the matchup.
His 97 receiving yards paced the Raiders this past Sunday, and his 445 receiving yards are more than All-Pro performers in Deandre Hopkins, Adam Thielen, and DK Metcalf. Keep an eye on this triple threat as they face an Eagles defense that isn’t bad, but should have their hands full trying to contain the talents of this young receiving core.
