Las Vegas Raiders vs Philadelphia Eagles: 3 things to watch
Greg Olson’s playcalling
It was no secret who the man in charge of offensive play-calling was before the Week 6 clash in Denver. Former head coach Jon Gruden was the de facto play-caller for the Raiders, as he was an offensive-minded head coach, which meant that offensive coordinator Greg Olson was mainly a decoy in a job that paid little dividends in terms of power.
With the resignation of Gruden, interim head coach Rich Bisaccia has allowed Olson to take over the play-calling, which, in only one game, looks like a huge improvement over what the Raiders had previously installed with Gruden. After two straight weeks of lethargic offense, the Silver and Black rebounded in a big way in Denver, going for over 400 yards of total offense, mixing up the play-calling, and dominating the vaunted Denver defense.
It will be intriguing to see how Olson continues his run as the new man in charge of the offense, and with his most studious pupil in quarterback Derek Carr, it seems the Raiders might be back on track after a season that started 3-0.
