Las Vegas Raiders vs Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Raiders to watch in Week 7

No. 2: Brandon Facyson

Once the Raiders lost Trayvon Mullen and Damon Arnette to injury, the hope was that second-year man Amik Robertson would be able to step up and compliment the dazzling play of veteran corner Casey Hayward. However, if you had a set of eyes and watched the Chicago Bears matchup in Week 5, you would have seen that the former failed nickel corner was not up to snuff.

This caused the Raiders in Week 6 to bring on a former pupil of defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, as they added veteran cornerback Brandon Facyson to the fold. The large corner was also large in the stat sheet, picking off quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, and playing spectacular, all the while only being officially on the team for a little over a week.

Maybe some familiarity with the playbook helped, but whatever the case, it seems that the 27-year-old veteran has stolen the starting job in the meantime for Robertson. A watchful eye should be on Facyson as he proves the Denver game was no fluke, as the Eagles receivers are not world-class, but also are not particularly weak either.

Let’s see if Facyson can be the answer to the cornerback situation as the injuries have unfortunately piled up in recent weeks.
