Raiders: 3 potential Marcus Mariota trades with the Cleveland Browns
This trade is a simple one that makes sense for both teams. For Cleveland, the team is in a win-now mode. They won’t have to give up any of their key players to get Mariota and forfeit a bit of draft capital instead.
For Las Vegas, the team can expunge Mariota’s hefty contract from their payroll. And, by getting a few picks, Mike Mayock can either draft more players or package those picks into another trade deal later.
Getting Mariota gets Cleveland through the games without Mayfield, as Mariota while likely play better and more explosively than Keenum. They can also use Mariota in certain packages, similar to what Las Vegas has tried to do with him in the first game of the season.
Also, the team could potentially trade away Keenum and make Mariota their sole backup.
As the NFL trade deadline approaches, the Raiders could be looking to make some moves that could take their team to the next level.
So, whether Mayfield’s injury is long-term or not, adding Mariota to the roster would really benefit the Cleveland Browns. And it helps Las Vegas make additions for this season or for the future.
