Las Vegas Raiders: 3 Keys to victory against Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7

Avoid Darius Slay

When it comes to the Eagles’ defense, the one thing they can do is stop the pass, and they are led by a player having an outstanding year. That player is Darius Slay, who has taken the assignment of covering the top wide receivers each week and has absolutely shut them down weekly.

Looking at his opponents through Week 6, Slay has been tasked with covering Calvin Ridley, Brandon Aiyuk, Amari Cooper, Tyreek Hill, D.J. Moore, and Mike Evans, and according to Pro Football Focus, none have more than one reception. He has yet to allow a single touchdown to those elite players as well, and you can be sure that Henry Ruggs III is on his list for this weekend.

If that is the case, Derek Carr is going to have to spread the ball around, and luckily for the Raiders, they have plenty of options for him to choose from. You can expect guys like Bryan Edwards and Hunter Renfrow to have a bit more production with Slay covering Ruggs, as the Silver and Black would be wise to avoid him altogether this weekend.
