Center. Hawkeyes . Tyler Linderbaum. 25. player. 878.

The Raiders put their faith in Andre James to replace Rodney Hudson, but it has not come to fruition so far. According to PFF, James is the lowest graded center in the NFL with a 39.9 grade, and even the eye test can confirm that.

Rodney Hudson was such a calming factor along the offensive line during his time with the Raiders that not having that has been alarming.

With that being the case, the Raiders will need to have some serious conversations on whether they need to upgrade the interior of the offensive line. And when it comes to draft prospects, it does not get any better this season than Iowa’s Tyler Linderbaum.

Iowa is known to put out highly touted offensive lineman, with Tristan Wirfs being the latest success, and Linderbaum has a chance to be the next great. He is a well-rounded athlete, having excelled in multiple sports in high school and his functional movement skills are evident. And once he gets his hands on you, the play is essentially over.

He may need to gain a little more size, but overall, there is a ton to like as a player. And as a converted defensive tackle, he is still relatively new to the center position, which means his ceiling as a player could be even higher. And considering the fact he is already the best center in college football, he could be on his way to stardom.
