Las Vegas Raiders vs Philadelphia Eagles Week 7: Studs and Duds

Studs – Josh Jacobs but mostly Kenyan Drake

The Eagles have one of the worst rush defenses in the NFL but given Las Vegas’s struggles running the ball this year, we knew it wasn’t a given that they could move the ball on the ground. We found out quickly that the Raiders could indeed run the ball against a Philly defense that couldn’t stop them any which way they tried.

Josh Jacobs was excellent as he racked up 68 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown before leaving the game with a chest injury in the second quarter. Hopefully, the injury is minor and the team just kept him out of the game as a precaution. Jacobs looked to be on his way to a big day but his big shoes were filled in admirably by Kenyan Drake who has been revitalized since Gruden’s departure.

Many of us wondered why the Raiders would give Drake a big contract without utilizing him properly in the first 5 games but he has been excellent since Greg Olson took over the playcalling. Drake had 79 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown against the Eagles, just a week after posting 75 yards and two touchdowns against the Broncos.

He has given this already potent offense another weapon out of the backfield and has begun to justify that contract with his recent play.
