2021 AFC West roundup, Week 7: Raiders roll over Eagles

Kansas City Chiefs

Is it too early to say that the Kansas City Chiefs are bad this season, but they have certainly been up and down, and their issues on the defensive side of the ball are a bit alarming.  Patrick Mahomes and the offensive line also struggled to get anything going at all in Week 7, which eventually led to Mahomes leaving the game to be checked for a concussion in the third quarter.

He ended up being ok and only didn’t get put back in due to the Chiefs getting throttled by the Tennessee Titans. Mahomes finished the game with 206 passing yards zero touchdowns and one interception.

Chad Henne came in and threw for 82 yards on 11-of-18 passing, and the running game was essentially nonexistent, with the leading rusher being Mahomes. Darrel Williams rushed for 20 yards to lead the running backs and Bryon Pringle was the leading receiver for the Chiefs with only 73 yards receiving.

As bad as the Chiefs’ defense has been this season, they did do a good job in limiting Derrick Henry, who has been a touchdown beast so far this season, only allowing him to throw a touchdown, but not rush for one.  One player they did not, and could not contain was wide receiver, AJ Brown.  Brown was making huge plays against this defense all game long catching eight passes on nine targets for 133 yards.

The Chiefs look to forget this terrible performance as they take on the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
