Las Vegas Raiders vs Philadelphia Eagles: 2021 Week 7 Offensive Grades

Running Back

The Raiders running backs feasted on the Eagles’ defense, even though starting running back Josh Jacobs had to leave the game early due to injury in the first half. However, he still added a score, which was one of the two rushing touchdowns the Raiders had on Sunday.

Backup running back Kenyan Drake took over the duties and did not need much help, as he ran for 69 yards on 14 attempts, a nearly five yards per carry. The running backs accumulated over 95 yards receiving as well, which was spread out among Jacobs, Drake, Jalen Richard, and even fullback Alec Ingold.

The running back room was a key to the Raiders’ success in this one, and after being so stagnant and unreliable, came to life in this matchup and was surely one of the keys to the Raider victory.

Grade: B+

Wide Receivers

This group was looked upon to spearhead the offense, especially considering starting tight end Darren Waller was ruled out pregame due to injury. The Raiders receivers were solid against Philadelphia and racked up 168 of Carr’s 323 passing yards. Not earth-shattering by any means, but Carr did his best job in this one to get everyone involved.

The receivers were dependable in this matchup, and the Eagles had difficulty covering them as their speed and route running was instrumental in Carr shredding this secondary. Although they may have not set the world ablaze in this one, the young receiving core was indeed involved heavily in this victory.

Grade: B

Tight End

If you are a Raider fan, I am sure you gulped at the fact that the Raiders would be going into this contest without Darren Waller. Derek Carr was asked pregame who was due for a breakout in this matchup — and his response instantly was “Foster Moreau.”

Maybe the quarterback was on to something because the star receiver in this matchup was indeed the third-year man out of LSU. His six receptions were second on the team Sunday, and he provided a score as well on a tough catch in the end zone to go along with 60 yards receiving. Moreau may not have the talent of Waller, but he showed he is more than capable of picking up the load if needed.

If not for Moreau, the Raiders would have had a tough time in this one. He shined and will look to garner a larger role moving forward.
