Las Vegas Raiders vs Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Surprises from Week 7

The Offensive Line

This has been one of the ugliest topics to discuss in a successful Raiders season thus far, but we finally have some good news on this front. Derek Carr has routinely seen blitzes go usually against his favor, but in this case, the offensive line kept the veteran quarterback nearly untouched.

Out of the 35 pass-blocking snaps, Carr was not hit once, and only pressured five times. The best of the bunch was of course starting left tackle Kolton Miller, who did not allow a single pressure on Carr.

The move of Alex Leatherwood to guard also paid dividends as the running game tallied almost 120 yards rushing. This is truly saying something, as the backfield accumulated two rushing touchdowns and was led by backup running back Kenyan Drake after Jacobs only played the first half.

The much-needed bye will come during a perfect time, as the Raiders look to finally get back starting guard Richie Incognito. It was a true weakness for the Raiders before, but in this new era, it seems the offensive line believe it or not — may end up becoming one of the true strengths of the Las Vegas Raiders.
