2022 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders picking late in full first round mock
No. 29
During the 2021 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders rolled the dice on Alabama offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood, who was named the starting right tackle from Day 1. Armed with an elite left tackle in Kolton Miller, Leatherwood was seen as a long-term solution on the right side, giving Las Vegas two young offensive tackles for the foreseeable future.
Well, since being drafted, Leatherwood has been a penalty machine and has already been moved inside for Brandon Parker to become the starting right tackle. He may end up being a solid tackle at the NFL level, but his agility is more suited for offensive guard, which is fine if he becomes one of the best in football.
With pick No. 29, the Raiders roll the dice on another SEC offensive tackle, but this one could end up being special. Only a sophomore, Matt Miller loves his agility and length, two keys to being an elite offensive tackle at the next level, and he plays with a mentality that is going to make him a special player in the locker room as well.
