Raiders: 5 biggest games in the second half of 2021
Week 18: Los Angeles Chargers
If the Raiders take care of business in the games leading up to this one, it could be 2011 all over again, when the Raiders played against the then-San Diego Chargers in their last game of the season with the division title on the line. Hopefully, if that scenario plays out in the 2021 season, the outcome will play out in the Raiders’ favor this time.
The Los Angeles Chargers came into this season as a dark horse candidate to win the Super Bowl, and they have looked the part at times. They also have the luxury of already having beaten the Raiders, as they were on the right side of a 28-14 decision back in Week 4.
Austin Ekeler and former Raiders tight end Jared Cook shredded the Raiders in that matchup.
Even though that game was in the midst of most of the offensive line struggles this season the Raiders cannot get swept by the Chargers and expect to even be in the playoffs. This game might not only be the most important game of this season, it might be the most important game since the Raiders faced off against Jon Gruden and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 37.
