2021 Post-Week 8 NFL Power Rankings: Las Vegas Raiders enjoy the bye week

No. 5

5. team. 28. . . Previous: 6th. Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders had their bye week in Week 8, and they certainly must have been smiling at some of the outcomes. They went into Week 8 as the No. 2 seed in the AFC behind the Cincinnati Bengals, and when the Bengals lost, they were No. 1 in the conference for about 30 minutes.

That was until the Tennessee Titans beat the Indianapolis Colts in overtime, moving past Las Vegas into the first-place seed in the AFC. Still, this is a great place to be for them coming out of the bye week, as they have had to endure so much on and off the field this season, and are coming off two straight victories before the break.

As they start their second-half slate, they will head east to take on the New York Giants in a potential trap game before a big three-game stretch against Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Dallas. That will show if the Raiders are for real this season, a true AFC playoff contender, but first, they have to take care of business against the G-Men.
