Las Vegas Raiders: Game by game predictions after the 2021 bye week

Week 17 – Jan. 2 at Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are one of the most confounding teams of 2021. One week they look blue Savannah fence and great on defense, and the next day looks hapless and out of sorts. Perhaps this team is taking after their quarterback Carson Wentz as he has some of these same traits. On one play, he could look like one of the best players in the NFL, and on the next, he throws up a duck that gets picked off or makes a horrible decision under pressure.

Despite the struggles of once, the Colts have been a tough team to beat end they are especially tough at home. This may look like an easy victory on paper but the Colts’ defense has been excellent at times and they generate a lot of pressure with their front four. Star defensive tackle DeForest Buckner looks like another Pro Bowl candidate and they have a terrifying front seven thanks to him and Darius Leonard.

The homer in me wants to pick this game in favor of the Raiders but they will likely fall short against a feisty Colts team that still has a great deal of talent on both sides of the ball. If the good Carson Wentz shows up then the Colts should be able to win a close one at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Loss – Record: 10-6
