Las Vegas Raiders: 3 New York Giants to Worry About in Week 9

Leonard Williams

Since Williams moved from MetLife green to MetLife blue, he’s really been able to improve his game. In 2020, his first full season as a Giant, Williams logged in an impressive 11.5 sacks. Not only did he constantly get to the quarterback last year, but he also was extremely disruptive in the backfield, as he secured 14 tackles for a loss.

In eight games this season, Williams has been able to take the quarterback down 5.5 times and has four tackles for a loss. Las Vegas will have to find ways to stop or slow Williams if they want to move the ball on the ground or through the air.

The key to stopping Williams lies in players like Kolton Miller, who hasn’t allowed a sack this season, and Brandon Parker. Both players will have to be prepared to contend with Williams’s great strength and athleticism on the edge.

The interior of the Las Vegas line also must be prepared, as Williams can play defensive tackle or attack inside on stunts. It’s up to Tom Cable to get the young group of offensive linemen ready for Williams and New York.
