The Las Vegas Raiders take on the New York Giants in Week 9 of the 2021 NFL season, and here are three G-Men to worry about in the contest.
While the New York Giants have been plagued with injuries all year, they still have a few talented playmakers on both sides of the football, and it is important that the Las Vegas Raiders go into this game focused. It has been a tough week for the franchise with all the news surrounding wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, and getting back on the field and playing may be the best thing for them.
If they want to be fully prepared for their trip to the east coast, then here are a few players that they will need to look out for.
Las Vegas Raiders: 3 New York Giants to Worry About in Week 9
Daniel Jones, Quarterback
After Daniel Jones made a catch in the Giants’ 25-3 win over the Carolina Panthers, people have joked that Jones is the best wide receiver, running back, and quarterback that the Giants have. And while that may not be true, Jones is still a talented quarterback who can make plays with his legs.
In fact, the skillset is a bit underrated because of the team he is on.
This season Jones has thrown for nearly 2000 yards and seven touchdowns, while also throwing five interceptions. These stats may be considered mediocre, but they are more impressive when considering how many injuries have affected the Giants’ offense and receiving core.
Also, he’s in an offense that is primarily called by Jason Garrett, who isn’t known for exceptional play calling.
If Las Vegas wants to stop Jones, then they’ll need to find ways to generate constant pressure. Maxx Crosby and Yannick Ngakoue will have to set the edge and contain Jones to the pocket, giving him little time to throw and almost no space to move. And if Jones is able to break free from the pocket, then linebackers Cory Littleton and Denzel Perryman will have to be ready to lay the boom before Jones can scramble for a significant chunk of yardage.
