The Las Vegas Raiders take on the New York Giants in Week 9 of the 2021 NFL season, and here are three bold predictions for the matchup.

After a week eight bye, the Las Vegas Raiders currently sit in first place of the AFC West with a record of 5-2. If they want to hold that position and stay above the Los Angeles Chargers, then they are going to have to keep their foot on the gas despite all of the difficulties that have fallen their way.

Their first opponent after the bye is the New York Giants, who possess a record of 2-6 and are last in the NFC East. Even though the Giants aren’t great, they can’t be overlooked. Las Vegas’ top players must shine so that the team can roll through the middle of the season.

Josh Jacobs Scores Multiple Touchdowns

The Giants have one of the worst rushing defenses in the league, surrendering 986 yards this season and about 123 rushing yards per game. This may be the game where Las Vegas really leans into their rushing attack and tries to get Josh Jacobs going for the rest of the season. It can also be a game that allows the offensive line to get a confidence boost as pass blockers.

Also, Las Vegas is now without Henry Ruggs and currently only has three receivers on the roster. This lack of receiver depth may force them to run the ball so that the receivers aren’t left on the field for too long. Also, by running the ball more, it may open the field up for the limited receiver room to get open on play-action passes.

Jacobs will likely be used throughout the game, especially in the red zone. His power and vision make him a tremendous asset in this area, as he can read defensives within the first second of the snap. Also, he can elevate and jump over the offensive line on goal-line power plays. So, expect Jacobs to get a lot of touches on Sunday, especially when Las Vegas is looking to score in the red zone.
