The Las Vegas Raiders are in the market for a legitimate WR1, and here are three reasons by Odell Beckham Jr. could be the answer in 2021.

Odell Beckham Jr. has officially been released by the Cleveland Browns and will be looking for a new home for the remainder of the 2021-2022 NFL season, and possibly even further in the future. The Las Vegas Raiders are the betting favorite to sign the star wide receiver, and their interest has been reported.

Let me begin this article by saying that if I were to simply discuss the Raiders’ pursuit to fill a hole at the wide receiver position without addressing why that hole exists, that would be disingenuous at best.

Las Vegas released Henry Ruggs III late Tuesday night as a result of a tragic car accident that left a 23-year old woman, Tina Tintor, dead and Ruggs arrested and charged with DUI resulting in death and reckless driving resulting in serious bodily harm or death.

Needless to say, this is an incredibly sad and gut-wrenching situation.

The Raiders, somehow, will need to find a way to go on and keep their attention on holding their spot at the top of the AFC West. A helpful way to do that immediately would be to address the now glaring hole on the field at wide receiver. It seems that there are two clear options for the Raiders to do this: DeSean Jackson and, now, Odell Beckham Jr., with the latter being the much more attractive and impactful option.

Beckham Jr. is a three-time Pro Bowler and a two-time second-team All-Pro selection. He is still just twenty-nine years old and, in 2016, became the fastest player to reach 200 career receptions and 4,000 career yards in NFL history.

If the Raiders can sign the star WR, they should not hesitate. Derek Carr would be the best quarterback that Beckham Jr., has ever played with (sorry, Giants and Browns fans) and the Raiders are in a contending position. Beckham Jr., could, very conceivably, be the piece that finally puts this Las Vegas team over the hump.

Let’s take a look at a few reasons why the Raiders need to sign (or claim) Odell Beckham Jr. if they have the opportunity.
