Las Vegas Raiders at New York Giants: 3 things to watch for in Week 9

Derek Carr vs the Giants secondary

The New York Giants are banged up on the offensive side of the ball, as it is likely that Sterling Shepard, Kenny Golladay, and Saquon Barkley will not play in this one. However, they are pretty solid on defense, and on Sunday night against the Chiefs, they were able to hold Patrick Mahomes and company in check for the most part.

They did so by playing their safeties deep and not allowing the big play, something the Raiders must keep in consideration this weekend. It will be interesting to see how Carr operates against a tough Giants secondary, one that has playmakers like Jabrill Peppers and James Bradberry at that level.

Carr has had success all season long, and without a great pass rush for the Giants, he should have more than enough time to operate. Still, this is something to keep an eye on this weekend, because if the Raiders can get the passing game going, star running back Josh Jacobs could have himself a monster game on the ground in his return from injury.
