Las Vegas Raiders at New York Giants: 3 things to watch for in Week 9

How the Raiders start

The Raiders have dealt with some incredible adversity this season, including the Jon Gruden resignation, and now the car crash with Ruggs. After the resignation of Gruden, the team stepped up in a big way, winning both games under interim head coach Rich Bisaccia before the bye week, and will now have to face another trial this weekend.

Losing Ruggs to a fatal car accident is a scenario all its own, and it leaves the Raiders without a key weapon on the offensive side of the ball. It also could do a number on their psyche heading into the game, so it will be interesting to see how they come out against the Giants in this one.

After the Gruden resignation, the Raiders came out firing against Denver, and all that good play carried over to their win against Philadelphia. They have lost one of their teammates in Ruggs and will have to pick up the slack on the field, but the bigger question is how this team is going to focus on and take care of business after such a whirlwind week.
