KJ Wright

Raiders fans were clearly excited when the team decided to bring in KJ Wright right before the opening game of the season, and although I would not say he has played bad, he has not been the type of player the Raiders were expecting to get. There is one play that I can remember where Wright shot through the line to get a tackle for a loss on fourth down against the Ravens, but outside of that, there haven’t been any times where I can really remember him making a play.

Wright’s snap count has continued to go down week after week, playing 54% of the snaps in the first game of the season compared to 7% against the Eagles in Week 7. Wright has 16 total tackles for the Raiders and has been completely outplayed by Denzel Perryman, who has been a pleasant surprise.

Luckily for the Raiders, they have gotten strong play from another veteran linebacker they brought in, Denzel Perryman, who has been a bright spot on this roster all season long. Wright is a veteran and should play better down the stretch, which will be necessary if the Raiders want to continue to move in the right direction on that side of the ball.
