Las Vegas Raiders getting deep threat they need in DeSean Jackson

The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly getting the services of DeSean Jackson, who will bring the deep threat back to the offense.

The Las Vegas Raiders offense struggled on Sunday against the New York Giants, moving the ball well between the 20s, but failing in the red zone. Las Vegas also struggled to get anything going deep, something that could prove to be an issue moving forward for this offense.

Luckily for the Silver and Black, reinforcements are coming in the person of DeSean Jackson, a deep threat with big-play ability. According to Josina Anderson from ESPN, Jackson texted her on Sunday and stated he was headed to the Raiders.

Jackson may be up there in age, but he fills a role the Raiders have a vacancy in, and he can still flat out fly. This is a crucial addition for this Las Vegas offense, one that managed only one touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 9.

Raiders need the deep threat in a big way

Of course, the need for a deep threat came about due to tragedy, as Henry Ruggs III was the driver of a car that killed 23-year old Tina Tintor. Ruggs faces severe criminal charges, and the Silver and Black released him hours after the incident.

In his last stop, Jackson was a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, one of the best teams in the NFC. Though he has hauled in only eight catches this season, he does have over 200 yards, as he is averaging more than 27 yards per reception.
