Las Vegas Raiders at New York Giants: 5 Things we learned in Week 9

4: Yannick Ngakoue Has Been Worth Every Penny

The Raiders made a splash this offseason by adding free-agent pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue to the team and he has lived up to the billing. The former Raven now has six sacks on the season and has been a menace to opposing QBs all year long with 12 QB hits. He is on pace to match or beat his career highs in both categories and could be in for a Pro Bowl season.

Ngakoue made one of the plays of the game in the first quarter as he strip-sacked Daniel Jones and gave the Raiders a short field which they converted into 3 points. He finished the day with 2 sacks, 2 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and the forced fumble which was recovered by Darius Philon.

He was one of the standout players on a great day for the Raiders’ pass defense as they held Daniel Jones to just 110 yards on the day but had trouble against the run. Ngakoue continues to live up to the fully guaranteed $18 million contract that he signed during the offseason and it has been so much fun watching him and Maxx Crosby terrorize opposing QBs.
