2021 Post-Week 9 NFL Power Rankings: Las Vegas Raiders fall from top-10?
No. 10
At first, it looked like the bye week was going to be good for the Las Vegas Raiders, as some teams ahead of them in the standings in the AFC and AFC West lost on Sunday, and for a moment, they were the No. 1 seed in the conference. Then came Tuesday morning, as the career of Henry Ruggs III came to a halt after a terrible decision, and the team now had to move on without one of their top offensive playmakers.
Then came the game against the New York Giants, where the offense was able to move the ball at will, but then halt in the red zone. Derek Carr had some uncharacteristic turnovers, and when all was said and done, the Silver and Black left MetLife Stadium on the wrong end of a 23-16 score in New Jersey.
Now, the Raiders will turn their attention to the Kansas City Chiefs, who make the trip to Allegiant Stadium for a Sunday Night Football battle in the desert. The Chiefs are struggling lately, and are ripe for the taking, but we will see which Raiders team actually decides to show up on Sunday night.
