Las Vegas Raiders: Keys to victory against the Chiefs in Week 10

Trevon Moehrig has a prime opportunity this Sunday

The Las Vegas Raiders selected rookie safety Trevon Moehrig out of TCU with their 43rd overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. While his name has not been at the forefront of mainstream highlight reels, he has been a vital part of the Raiders’ defensive success this season.

For Moehrig, he is the team’s deep middle safety, often 15-20 yards away from the line of scrimmage each play. His responsibility is simple yet complex, to keep the action in front of him. Which to this point, he has done admirably.

On Sunday night, he will be facing Patrick Mahomes, who is always looking for the big play and has been limited in doing so thus far this season. For Trevon, he must maintain his discipline and remember his role with each and every repetition.

Despite the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense struggling recently, they are still a competent and explosive group who are always looking for the kill shot. This is his biggest stage and opponent to show off his athleticism, mental processing, and range to those who may not be familiar with his outstanding play thus far this season. In addition, another rookie will be put to the test for the Silver and Black.
