Las Vegas Raiders vs Chiefs 2021 Week 10: Studs and Duds

Studs – Bryan Edwards

Bryan Edwards was an absolute no-show last week against the New York Giants and actively hurt the team with some terrible drops and mistakes. He was likely unfocused after the Henry Ruggs incident so it was good to see him bounce back with a very good performance against Kansas City on Sunday.

Edwards was a big-play threat as he had 3 catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. All 3 of his catches were for over 20 yards and his touchdown was a nearly 40-yard laser from Derek Carr. The second-year receiver is still inconsistent but has shown flashes of big-play ability and good skills after the catch. He is learning to use his size and strength to wall off smaller defensive backs and will continue to get more opportunities as his role grows within the offense.

The Raiders and Edwards may not have planned for him to be the number one receiver but that is his de facto role now in the offense. There are still weeks when he can disappear as he did against the Giants but there were encouraging signs this week and hopefully he can build on this performance against a solid Bengals secondary.
