Sit ‘Em

DeSean Jackson

After Ruggs’ departure, the Raiders needed someone to fill that speedy, take the top off of a defense role that was supposed to be filled by Zay Jones. Insert DeSean Jackson. Jackson made his first debut against the Chiefs last week and on his first and only reception deep down the field, he fumbled it and turned it back over to Kansas City.

The Bengals are a middle of the pack against wide receivers this year in regards to fantasy points given up, large in part due to their ability to cover over the top with their safeties.  Their free safety, Jessie Bates, is a ball-hawking safety that has played a role similar to how Gus Bradley uses Trevon Moehrig.

Cincinnati will undoubtedly trust their corners and take their chances when it comes to manning up the likes of Bryan Edwards and Zay Jones. That leaves Bates to play over the top of someone like DeSean Jackson and prevent any big plays down the field or over the top. With Jackson’s lack of production so far and the fact that his worth in regards to a fantasy role is boom or bust, you should avoid relying on him unless you literally have no one else available.
