5 Las Vegas Raiders veterans who should not be back in 2022
Brandon Parker, Offensive Tackle
Brandon Parker was once considered a future starter for this Raiders franchise, but it became clear pretty quickly that should not be the case. In 2021, he has been thrown into the mix because Alex Leatherwood struggled mightily as the team’s right tackle, and has been starting on the right side opposite Kolton Miller ever since.
Going forward, it is time for the franchise to move on from Parker, as he is likely never to become the player they thought he would when they made him a third-round pick back in 2018. Already 26 years old, Parker is not someone that should be starting for an NFL right now and is likely going to be a solid backup at the NFL level moving forward.
If the Raiders can bring him back on the cheap, and make him a depth tackle, then so be it, but to have him as the answer at right tackle moving forward is not the way to go. He is a player who has done everything this franchise has asked him to do so far, but after three lackluster seasons in the Silver and Black, it is time to move on.
