Las Vegas Raiders at Dallas Cowboys: 3 things we learned in Week 12
Derek Carr is fine
The talk this week has surrounded starting quarterback Derek Carr, as he and this offense has struggled in a big way since the bye week. Between duds against the New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cincinnati Bengals, there were even some in Raider Nation that wanted the team to turn to Marcus Mariota at quarterback.
While the struggles were real, Carr showed on Thursday why he is the starting quarterback and captain of this team, getting the job done through the air, and even on the ground. Carr was taking shots downfield, dancing in the pocket, and making throws, while also taking off and running when he needed to.
In the game, Carr finished with 373 yards and a touchdown, while completing another game-winning drive in the process.
The Raiders suffered a big-time loss in this game when Darren Waller went down with a knee injury, and that is something that is going to affect this offense moving forward. Hopefully, Waller will be back soon, but Carr showed on Sunday that he can make do with the rest of his weapons, putting together one of the best games of the season for No. 4.
