Las Vegas Raiders at Dallas Cowboys: 3 Surprises in Week 12
No Turnovers
Heading into this game, both teams had been struggling on the offensive side of the ball and struggling with the turnovers. Derek Carr had been throwing interceptions at a high rate, and the Cowboys, without two of their star wide receivers, were going to have to rely on Michael Gallup and little else in the passing game.
While some could have predicted a low-scoring game, especially with guys out, and the issues of recent weeks, this one got out to a quick start, and the points kept coming. Las Vegas was able to get on the board on their first drive, and before the first quarter ended, there had already been 20 points scored.
In what would end up being a 36-33 overtime victory, one of the biggest surprises was that there were no turnovers in the game. Both Las Vegas and Dallas did not give the ball away at all in this one, and outside of a Carr fumble that was recovered by John Simpson, this was a clean game in terms of turning it over.
