Raiders at Cowboys: Offensive Grades for 2021 Week 12

Offensive Line

The Raiders offensive line is the clear weak point of the team. Thursday’s performance shows that, though they were not entirely awful like they have been in some games this season.

While there were plays where Derek Carr had all day to throw, there were many others where he was forced to use his legs early to extend the play due to early pressure. The run-blocking was also sub-par, per usual, but not as bad as most weeks.

But it is the penalties that really hurt the grade for the Raiders offensive front here. Of the 14 penalties called on the Raiders, six of them were committed by the offensive line. The number of penalties in this contest was insane to begin with, so the team as a whole needs to clean that up.

But it is the usual culprits in John Simpson and Brandon Parker week in and week out being called for costly flags.

The Raiders offense is capable of being great even with shotty offensive line play as we saw a perfect example of on Thursday, so it is interesting to think about how good they are capable of being with even decent play from the unit.
