Raiders at Dallas Cowboys: Studs and Duds from 2021 Week 12
Dud: Maxx Crosby
I really hate to do this to Maxx Crosby, because he is one of my favorite players not only on the team but in the entire league, but this is the third straight game where he has not really affected the quarterback at all, and fifth straight where he hasn’t recorded a sack. Yannick Ngakoue came up with a sack and some big-time pressures, Solomon Thomas had his best game since his two-sack game in Pittsburgh, and even Johnathan Hankins had a bigger impact on this game than Crosby did.
Yes, I know Maxx is getting the Khalil Mack treatment, where he is probably being held on almost every single pass rush, and there was one really bad missed call on a Crosby hold in the fourth quarter, but guess what is happening to the other elite pass rushers all around the league?
The same exact thing.
Crosby has been struggling so much these past few weeks that Ngakoue has officially surpassed him as the leader in overall pressures. Dax Prescott and the Cowboys were able to make a massive comeback in the fourth quarter, and a ton of that is due to not getting enough pressure to make Prescott as uncomfortable in the pocket as he was in the first three quarters of the game.
