The Run Game
Earlier in this piece, we talked about the Raiders offensive line, and how reshuffling the deck up front has led to the team struggling on offense from time to time. While Derek Carr has been under duress a ton this season, he has lit it up through the air and entering Week 13, he actually leads the NFL in passing yards, even though the team has already had their bye week.
On the other side of the coin, the Raiders run game has been downright atrocious, and a lot of that has to do with the play of the offensive line. After bringing in Kenyan Drake to be the No. 2 to a star in Josh Jacobs as the feature back, both have not done much in the run game, and it is causing the Raiders to be very one-dimensional on that side of the ball.
Jacobs is coming off his first Pro Bowl in 2020, but his numbers are way down, and his highest yards total came last week against Dallas with only 87. In fact, only Peyton Barber has gone for over 100 yards in a game this season, and when it comes to Drake, he is mostly only a pass-catching back at this point.
Eventually, being able to only pass will come back to hurt you coming down the stretch of a season.
