5 things to blame if the Raiders do not make the playoffs again
Losses to Chicago and New York
In the last game, he coached as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, Jon Gruden and the Silver and Black lost a terrible game against a bad team at home. That team was the Chicago Bears, who barely beat the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day, and it could end up being a loss that haunts the Raiders when all is said and done.
After the bye week, despite everything that has happened, the Raiders were still seen as favorites heading east to take on the New York Giants inside MetLife Stadium. Instead of going in and beating a lesser team, the Raiders laid an egg against the Giants, who were severely banged up in the game, kick-starting their three-game losing streak since the bye.
Those are the kinds of games that playoff teams are supposed to win, and while we see favorites lose every week, sometimes big, these two losses will hurt the Raiders in a tight AFC race. Had they won even one of those, they would have a playoff spot right now, but because of the losses, it will be an uphill battle to get into the top 7 of the AFC.
