Raiders: 3 Washington Football Team players to worry about in Week 13

Taylor Heinicke, Quarterback

The ‘near’ hero in last season’s closely contested loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs has picked up where he left off last season as he has Washington riding high. The current three-game winning streak includes a bit of revenge in a win over the Bucs.

The moxie shown in last season’s near upset of the eventual super bowl champions has carried over, and the quarterback has surely staked his claim on the starting job. Washington, with a win in this contest, would nearly be on the cusp of taking the division lead in the NFC East. Heinicke has been somewhat of a dual-threat at quarterback, he is second on the team in rushing and is sixth in rushing yards for all quarterbacks across the league.

With the ability to scramble, as well as spreading the ball around the field to a receiving corps led by Terry McLaurin, Heinicke is not just a fun name to say anymore, but a name that should be respected.

The Raiders defense will have to keep an eye on not just Heinicke’s arm but also his legs, and this is what makes stopping the 28-year-old so difficult. For the Silver and Black to win this game, stopping the dangerous quarterback is essentially the biggest key in this one.
