Raiders: 3 Washington Football Team players to worry about in Week 13
Jonathan Allen, Defensive Tackle
The defensive tackle position is highly disrespected. For the most part, the dirty work they have to do on a week-to-week basis does not show up in the box score. Well, this is usually the case, but not for Jonathan Allen.
The 26-year-old former first-round pick is on pace to have his best season, as his six sacks would be second on the Raiders behind Yannick Ngakoue, and is even more than Maxx Crosby’s at five. The biggest issue for the Raiders has more or less been the offensive line, it has been a mixed bag this season, and the inexperienced line will have a daunting task in trying to stop the pass-rushing Allen.
It will take some creative shift calls from offensive line coach Tom Cable, and constant double teams to stop the bull rush from Allen. If Allen is unleashed early and often into the face of quarterback Derek Carr, the Raiders will surely falter in this clash.
