Raiders: Keys to victory against the WFT in Week 13
Raiders’ special teams cannot afford mishaps as they did versus the Cowboys.
Special teams can be special for both good and bad connotations. For example, Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his perfect and clutch field goal kicking in Week 12’s victory versus the Dallas Cowboys.
On the other hand, the Las Vegas special team unit allowed a kickoff to be returned for a touchdown in the contest. This Sunday, points may be at a premium, and a special team’s score in Washington’s favor would most certainly give a morale boost to a team that will not need any more energy than they already bring week to week.
Both units will also work without key players. Las Vegas will be without long snapper Trent Sieg due to Covid-19 protocols, and Washinton will have a new placekicker after Joey Slye’s injury last week. In addition, former Raider head coach – now WFT defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio may have a little something extra in store for his former team and quarterback.
