Las Vegas Raiders vs Washington Football Team: 3 bold predictions in Week 13
Bold Prediction 1: Derek Carr shreds Jack Del Rio’s defense
Derek Carr is currently on pace to finish the season with the third-most passing yards in a single season in NFL history. Without the added seventeenth game, Carr would still be on pace to throw for over 5,000 yards.
It has been an incredibly impressive feat, made even more impressive considering the circumstances surrounding the Raiders’ season.
After a three-game slump following the bye week, Carr regained his mojo on Thanksgiving Day in Dallas. He threw for 373 yards and a touchdown, completing over 60 percent of his passes. Most importantly, Carr led the Raiders to a win.
Following what appeared to be a get-right game for the Raiders’ quarterback, Carr will now face former head coach Jack Del Rio.
Del Rio coached Carr and the Raiders from 2015 to 2017, leading the franchise to their only playoff appearance since 2002. The Raiders’ signal-caller should be pretty familiar with Del Rio’s defense, as he lined up against it every day in practice.
Carr’s familiarity with Del Rio’s system will not be the only thing working against Washington, however, as the Football Team ranks 31st in QBR allowed and 25th in passing yards given up. The Raiders’ offense, contrarily, ranks third in passing yards and leads the NFL in explosive plays.
Carr should have no problem adding to his already-impressive season statistics. Look for him to top 350 passing yards and add a couple of scores through the air.
