Raiders X-Factors against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021 Week 14

2. Hunter Renfrow

The wide receivers of the Raiders have matched Derek Carr for the most part, not really spectacular and inconsistent. Except for the lone exception in Hunter Renfrow. The third-year receiver was nearly responsible alone for keeping the Raiders in contention last week against the Washington Football Team.

Out of Carr’s 249 passing yards in this contest, 102 of it belonged to Renfrow. The next closest receiver in terms of yardage wasn’t even a receiver, but running back Josh Jacobs, who was only able to muster a grand total of 38 yards.

Renfrow was sharp on Sunday, running crisp routes and was a vacuum cleaner in receiving the ball, able to hold on the ball consistently through contact and blanketed coverage. The hope is that tight end Darren Waller can play this week after missing Week 13 due to injury, but even with the Pro Bowl tight end available, the best receiver this season is hands down the former Clemson Tiger.

Carr will surely force-feed the ball to his talented slot receiver on Sunday, and honestly for the Raiders to have a shot at all, this game plan is going to be a key ingredient if the the Raiders have any recipe for victory.
