Las Vegas Raiders: 2021 Week 14 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em or Sit ‘Em

Sit ‘Em

DeSean Jackson, Wide Receiver

We have seen the talent and speed that Jackson still possesses at the age of 35 — however, his one remarkable performance as a Raider so far, was the exciting win on Thanksgiving in Dallas. When you look at the numbers, they do not totally tell the entire story.

More than half of his 103 yards came on one play, and he only made three catches in the game. He has not been used very much in this offense, he is usually seen holding his helmet on the sideline as the Raiders seem to favor a more short style of passing, which he is basically useless in. He does his damage on deep passes, which the Raiders for the most part seem a bit reluctant to revert back to since the dismissal of Henry Ruggs.

The talent might still be there for the veteran receiver, but how often will he even see the field? Avoid the receiver in fantasy unless in deeper leagues.

Derek Carr, Quarterback

The last time Derek Dallas Carr showed up at Arrowhead Stadium, he shredded the Chiefs’ defense. However, that was last season. This season his play against the Chiefs’ shabby defense was lethargic and horrendous as he was outperformed heavily by the opposing quarterback in Pat Mahomes.

Now, this is a tough one to call, in most fantasy formats, you probably have no choice but to start the veteran quarterback if you own him. However, if you happen to have the luxury of starting another opposing quarterback, you should. He has been consistently bad since the Week eight bye, and all signs would point to another flub in this one.

Until the quarterback proves he can replicate his early-season form — avoid Carr if you can.
