Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs: Bold Predictions in Week 14

Bold Prediction #2: Trayvon Mullen is back in a big way

Trayvon Mullen has not played in a game for the Raiders since getting injured early in the team’s Week 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Last week, though, the Raiders designated Mullen to return from IR and he has now gone through a full week of practice.

It appears on Sunday, against the Chiefs, the Raiders will see the return of one of their best defensive players. In the first three weeks of the season, in which the Raiders went 3-0, Mullen was playing quite well opposite Casey Hayward.

Las Vegas should see a noticeable boost in their defense with the return of Mullen, as it allows for a lot more flexibility from Gus Bradley. Now, the team’s top three defensive backs will be able to play alongside each other in their true positions in Mullen, Hobbs, and Hayward.

While the Raiders will welcome any help they can get against Patrick Mahomes, the former NFL MVP has yet to return to form this season. Even after a big game against the Raiders in their first meeting that seemed to get Mahomes and the offense back on track, he has followed that up with zero touchdowns and two interceptions in their last two games.

The Raiders’ defense should be able to have a more respectable performance this time around, and Trayvon Mullen will be a large reason for that.

Don’t be too surprised to see Mullen pick off Mahomes in his first game back.
