Raiders 7-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Raiders regain their speed

75. Darrian Beavers – Linebacker, Cincinnati

The Raiders will need a long-term answer at linebacker going forward and, at some point, will need to spend some draft capital to do so.

Cincinnati will be the first non-power five team to play in the college football playoffs, and it has a lot to do with their great defense. In the middle of that defense is linebacker Darrian Beavers, who provides a very unique and diverse skill set.

At 6’4 and 255lbs, Beavers is a bigger linebacker, but having been a former safety and wide receiver in high school, he is by no means immobile. In one three-play sequence, you could see him coming downhill against the run, dropping into a zone, or rushing the passer as an edge defender.

There doesn’t appear to be a glaring weakness in his game, so if the only thing keeping him from being a top 50 guy is that he is a good athlete and not a supreme athlete, that’s a win for Las Vegas.
