Raiders 7-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Raiders regain their speed
123. Breece Hall – Running Back, Iowa State
The Raiders have a big decision to make on whether they will extend running back Josh Jacobs this coming offseason. And given how this season has gone for Jacobs, it is hard to believe the Raiders will opt to give that extension.
If that’s the case, they could look to find a cheaper solution in the draft. Iowa State’s Breece Hall has been one of the top running backs in college football for the past two seasons and could be an easy solution to the future of Las Vegas’ backfield.
A patient runner with power at 220 pounds is quick enough to make others miss in the open field and make decisive cuts. He will not display great speed, but that has not been a prerequisite to being an effective runner in the NFL. Hall also shows a willingness to pass protect and can be a viable check down option in the passing game giving three-down ability.
The devaluing of the running back position certainly put the Raiders in a challenging situation with Jacobs but could be a blessing if Hall falls to them.
