Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs: 3 Surprises in Week 14

Lackluster performance on offense

The Raiders came out to open the game with a run, and because of that, this game got turned on its head early on. They haven’t had a semblance of success running the football all season long but still, have the desire to establish the run.

The first play ended up being a nightmare, as Josh Jacobs took the ball and fumbled it, which was promptly picked up by cornerback Mike Hughes and returned it for a touchdown, and from that point, the rout was on.  Hunter Renfrow fumbled, Foster Moreau let a Derek Carr pass bounce off his body for an interception, Carr fumbled once again trying to run away from a defender and to seal the game, Zay Jones also had a fumble.

Even when the Raiders were down big in the second half, the offense was filled with short passes to either Moreau, Jacobs, or Renfrow, who had the only good game, finishing the game with 13 receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown.

With his performance today, Renfrow became the first player in Raiders history with 30 receptions in three games. The Raiders’ offense needed to come out and be aggressive from the start and execute near-perfect to win this game, but they did neither and had their worst performance of the season just barely beating out their performance in the Bears game.
