Raiders treasure chest of first-round picks has turned into Fool’s Gold

Looking Ahead

As it stands now, the Las Vegas Raiders hold the No. 14 overall pick in the first round in 2022, and if they keep losing, that selection could be a top-10 pick. After starting out 3-0, and getting to 5-2, to be discussing a top-10 pick right now is extremely disappointing, and the hope is that the team can make a run and possibly earn a Wild Card.

However, no matter where they finish up, this organization has to be better in Round 1, and they could end up looking to another general manager to do so. It remains to be seen whether or not Mayock had any kind of final say the past few years, but if we are judging by his efforts after the first round, he is definitely someone you want to be involved in the draft process.

Las Vegas had a chance to really turn around this franchise the past few drafts, but after so many first-round swings and misses, you can see that there is a big difference in terms of talent level between them, and the best of the conference. We have a while to go until the 2022 NFL Draft kicks off, and this front office could look a lot different before the Raiders make their first selection next April.
