Las Vegas Raiders: 5 realistic head coaching candidates for 2022

Doug Pederson

Doug Pederson is a Super Bowl-winning head coach, which should definitely place him on Mark Davis’ radar this offseason. What’s so impressive about his Super Bowl victory is that he did it against Bill Bellicheck and the New England Patriots, and he was without his starting quarterback Carson Wentz.

That shows that he has the ability to get creative with an offense, develop a solid game plan, and make in-game adjustments accordingly.

The only reason that Pederson isn’t still the head coach in Philadelphia is that he was scapegoated for the team’s collapse and the fiasco involving Jalen Hurts and Carson Wentz. Pederson isn’t entirely innocent in the team’s downfall, but he also wasn’t fully to blame and didn’t deserve to be fired. Las Vegas could offer Pederson a second chance and the opportunity to prove that he wasn’t behind the demise of Philadelphia.

If Pederson comes to Vegas, then he may want to stick with Derek Carr. Look what he did with Nick Foles, who also had a lot of experience and wasn’t as talented as Carr. Pederson may feel that, with Carr leading the offense, he’ll only have to add a piece or two to the group rather than starting a complete offensive rebuild that could take years to fully pan out.
