Las Vegas Raiders: 5 realistic head coaching candidates for 2022

Jim Harbaugh

This is another option that Las Vegas can look into. Harbaugh obviously has an extensive resume, one that features an appearance as the San Francisco 49ers head coach in Super Bowl XLVII. He hasn’t been as successful at the college level, not making the College Football Playoffs until this season. Some of his issues have come from the fact that he has never had real talent at quarterback in Michigan.

So, he could stick with a proven veteran like Carr or draft a guy for the future. Either way, it’s better than anything he ever had at Michigan, which should allow him to find much more success.

Harbaugh does have some history with Las Vegas. In 2002 and 2003, he was the team’s quarterback coach. Also, before he signed a deal with Michigan, Mark Davis seriously considered making him the team’s head coach before eventually bringing in Jack Del Rio. So, the connection between the team, owner, and coach is obviously there if Davis decides to go in that direction.

Harbaugh would likely be the best leader out of all five coaching options listed prior. He has a lot of energy, emotion, and command, which usually resonates with the players he coaches. If he wins the National Championship this year, then he may feel as though he accomplished all he could at the college level and may try to make another run at the Super Bowl.
