Although quarterback Baker Mayfield may be the face of this franchise — the numbers suggest otherwise. Enter running back Nick Chubb, the true key to this Cleveland offense. The bruising back out of Georgia is top-five in rushing yards in all of football and has done this while missing some time this season due to injury.
As Chubb approaches a third-straight 1,000-yard season (which may likely come in this contest), the 25-year-old back is what drives this offense week-to-week. The Browns have quite the potent one-two punch with a backfield of Chubb and Kareem Hunt, but the bell cow here is indeed Chubb. Hunt also is unlikely to suit up in this contest in this game due to injury.
So expect a big number of rushing attempts for Chubb as he enters this contest virtually alone in the backfield.
He has a combination of power and speed that is hard to come by in this league, and if not for injury, his name would surely be even higher on the rushing yards list. The Raiders have struggled against the run, and are currently allowing over 125 yards rushing per game, putting them near the bottom of the NFL ranks.
This defensive line and linebacking unit must be on their toes for the Raiders to turn this season around, and they must do all they can to stop the talented Pro Bowl back if there is any chance of victory.
