Raiders at Cleveland Browns: Instant reactions from Week 15
Like him or not, Carr comes up big with the game on the line
After the first drive of the game for the Silver and Black, the offense was stagnant, as Derek Carr struggled to push the ball down the field. Josh Jacobs had another sub-par game for a player of his caliber, and for a while, it looked like Peyton Barber was the RB1 of this franchise.
A Nick Mullens touchdown throw gave the Browns their first lead of the night, a 14-13 margin late in the fourth quarter, and Carr and the Raiders took over. Inexplicably, they took a long shot downfield, a ball that was overthrown intended for Zay Jones, and interested by Greedy Williams, one of the few healthy Browns defensive backs playing in the game.
Luckily for the Raiders, the defense forced a three-and-out, giving Las Vegas the ball back with a chance to win the game. Like he has done so many times, Carr orchestrated a game-winning drive, adding to his record of comeback victories through the first eight seasons of an NFL career, and putting a cap on what would have been the most embarrassing loss in recent memory.
