Las Vegas Raiders at Cleveland Browns: 3 Surprises in Week 15
Las Vegas Raiders at Cleveland Browns: 3 Surprises
The Offensive Line Did Its Job
The offensive line experiment hasn’t really worked out well for Las Vegas this season. The group struggles to create holes for Josh Jacobs and rarely gives Carr ample time to throw. One of their worst performances was just last week when Carr was pressured on 45% of his dropbacks against the Kansas City Chiefs. Against Cleveland, that was a different story.
Josh Jacobs only rushed for 52 yards, but the offensive line was providing him with much more space to work. Also, there were many times when Carr had a plethora of time in the pocket, which gave him and his receivers time to find openings and get some good yardage. This was how the offensive line was supposed to perform all season, and perhaps if they had, then the offense would be a bit more productive this year.
The only bright side is that this may be an indicator of what the offensive line is capable of in the future. And if they can add another piece or two, then they have the chance to be a dominant group. That’s exactly what Las Vegas needs if they hope to be a playoff contender for the next few years to come.
